College looks different for every student. Most families we work with are exploring one of these paths, and many are weighing more than one.
Hundreds of colleges and universities now offer inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) programs, where students with intellectual disability take college classes, join campus life, and earn a credential. Programs vary widely in how inclusive they are, whether students live on campus, what credential they award, and whether federal financial aid is available. We help you tell them apart and find the ones that fit.
Many colleges offer structured programs on top of standard disability services, such as academic coaching, executive function support, social programming, or a dedicated advisor. Some are included in tuition and many carry an added fee. We help you understand what each program actually provides and whether it matches what your student needs.
Some students do not need a separate program. They need a college where disability services, accommodations, and campus support work well. We help you find those campuses and plan the move from an IEP or 504 Plan to college accommodations.
We come to college planning from vocational rehabilitation and career development, not admissions. That means we start with the student: their strengths, their interests, how they learn best, and where they want to be in five years. The college list follows from that.
We look at what each program leads to, including internships, employment support, and what graduates go on to do.
We know how accommodations change after high school and what documentation colleges ask for.

Counseling on postsecondary options is one of the Pre-Employment Transition Services available at no cost to eligible students in New York through ACCES-VR, and Lincoln Square Coaching provides these services. If your student is eligible, we will help you start there.
Private educational consulting is a separate, family-funded service. It covers the full college search, including building a college list, application and interview support, and documentation planning. It is not an add-on to ACCES-VR services. If your student is currently receiving ACCES-VR services from Lincoln Square Coaching, we will not offer private consulting at the same time, and we are glad to refer you to other consultants if you want private help. Choosing to pay never gets faster or better access to our funded services, and choosing not to pay never affects them.
Lincoln Square Coaching does not accept referral fees or payments from any college or program. Our recommendations are based on fit alone.
No consultant can guarantee admission, and we will not promise it. We will give you our honest read on fit and readiness.

We do not diagnose or provide evaluations. If a college asks for updated documentation, we will help you understand what is needed and refer you to a licensed provider.

Common questions from families planning for college and other postsecondary programs.
Inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) programs are college programs for students with intellectual disability. Students take college classes, take part in campus life, often complete internships, and earn a certificate or other credential. Programs differ in how fully students are included, whether housing is available, and the credential they award.
Every college must provide reasonable accommodations through its disability services office. Specialized support programs go beyond that with structured services like academic coaching, executive function support, or social programming. Many charge an added fee, so it helps to know exactly what you are paying for.
IEPs end when a student leaves high school. In college, students request accommodations under the ADA and Section 504 by registering with disability services and providing documentation. Students also have to ask for support themselves, which is why we build self-advocacy into planning.
Some IPSE programs are approved as Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) programs, which allows eligible students to use certain federal financial aid. Other funding sources may also apply. We walk families through the options for each program on their list.
Most families start in 10th or 11th grade, but it is never too late or too early. Starting early gives students time to build skills colleges look for, like self-advocacy and independent living skills. Students already out of high school are welcome too.
No. We work virtually with families anywhere and meet in person in New York City. Our program research covers colleges across the country.
Yes. Some students come to us after a difficult first semester or when considering a transfer. Our coaching can help with the transition, and our consulting can help identify a better-fitting program.
No. Pre-ETS are funded by ACCES-VR for eligible students and include counseling on postsecondary options. Private consulting is a separate, family-funded service that covers the full college search and application process. We always help families check whether a funded option meets their needs first, and we do not provide private consulting to students who are currently receiving ACCES-VR services from us.
Your consult is free, and hourly consulting is $185 per session. Package pricing depends on scope, so we recommend a package and share its cost during your consult. Before any work begins, you will receive a written agreement covering scope and fees.
