Lincoln Square Coaching partners with public, charter, and nonpublic schools in NY and NJ to deliver on-site Pre-ETS instruction at no cost through ACCES-VR and DVRS.

What We Provide
Our Pre-ETS instruction is built around SOAR: Self-Discovery, Opportunities, Advocacy, and Readiness.
Job Exploration Counseling
A small group curriculum using games, visuals, and activities to explore career interests, job clusters, and work preferences.
Workplace Readiness Training
Prepares students for workplace success through instruction in hygiene routines, time management, teamwork, and social skills.
Instruction in Self-Advocacy
Trains students to understand their rights, communicate their needs, and advocate for themselves in educational and workplace settings.
Post-Secondary Counseling
1:1 guidance sessions exploring options including college, vocational training, adult day programs, or employment supports.
Instructional Time That Counts
Pulling students out of class only makes sense if what replaces it reinforces your obligations. Every SOAR unit is crosswalked at the unit level — never claimed program-wide — so you can see exactly which standards a given student’s instruction touched.
Five Frameworks, Mapped Unit by Unit
Commencement performance-indicator level: Standard 1 (Career Development), Standard 2 (Integrated Learning), and the eight Universal Foundation Skills of Standard 3a.
ELA, Mathematics, Social Studies practices, Computer Science and Digital Fluency, Health, and FACS. Grade-band codes are finalized against your district’s grade configuration during service planning.

By goal and developmental band for grades 9–10 and 11–12.

We maintain the crosswalk alongside the curriculum and verify it against current NYSED and NACE source documents annually. We also publish what we don’t claim: SOAR does not deliver a career major, so CDOS Standard 3b is not claimed, and we make no unit-level Technology Education claim.

For students pursuing the credential under Option 1, districts must document a Career Plan, an Employability Profile, commencement-level achievement of CDOS Standards 1, 2, and 3a, and 216 hours of CTE coursework and/or work-based learning including at least 54 hours of work-based learning. Here is what SOAR contributes — and only what it contributes.
Student-voiced artifacts from the job exploration and post-secondary strands that districts may incorporate into their career plan documentation.
Completed units and banked portfolio artifacts mapped to every indicator on NYSED’s attainment documentation structure, delivered per student.
Mastery measure data — skill, criterion, support level, and generalization evidence — from instructional settings. The Profile itself remains the district’s to complete.
Whether SOAR instructional hours count toward the 216-hour requirement is a district determination based on how you schedule and code the instruction. We do not provide work-based learning — the 54-hour minimum is the district’s to arrange, and we coordinate with your WBL provider or coordinator. We do not represent to families that SOAR participation alone earns the credential.
District teams evaluating SOAR can request the full unit-level standards crosswalk. Ask for it with your inquiry and we will send it with your program overview.
