Westchester Program Support Specialist
- Location: Westchester County, NY (Hybrid - mix of in-person and remote work)
- Schedule: Part-Time
- Pay: $22.00 per hour
About This Job
We're looking for someone to help us grow our programs in Westchester! You'll teach high school students and adults important skills like self-advocacy (speaking up for yourself) and getting ready for work. You'll also help people explore careers and plan their next steps.
Your Work Week Will Look Like:
- 1 day per week: Work in-person at a partner school in Westchester
- Other hours: Work from home, meet clients at community locations (like libraries), or do administrative work

Essential Job Functions
Teaching & Coaching (Most of Your Time - 60%)
- Lead one-on-one and group sessions teaching self-advocacy, work readiness, and independent living skills
- Use our curriculum to help people explore careers and prepare for jobs
- Use creative and flexible teaching methods to work with people of all ability levels
- Show students what good workplace behavior looks like (problem-solving, teamwork, communication)
School-Based Work (20%)
- Go to a Westchester school one day per week
- Work alongside the Lincoln Square Coaching Lead
- Help students build confidence through our curriculum activities
Paperwork & Organization (15%)
- Schedule sessions with participants and their families
- Track attendance and write progress notes
- Complete reports on time
- Follow all ACCES-VR (the vocational rehabilitation agency) rules and requirements
Teamwork & Learning (5%)
- Work with LSC staff to make sure programs meet our goals
- Attend team meetings and trainings
- Keep learning and improving your skills
You Must Have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, special education, psychology, social work, human resources, or similar field
- Experience: Previous work with people with disabilities in schools, job training, or social services
- Skills: Good at teaching, communicating, and staying organized
- Tech Comfort: Comfortable using video platforms and working from home sometimes
- Transportation: Able to travel to different locations (schools, libraries, office in Manhattan)
- Flexibility: Open to working in schools and leading group training sessions
Preferred:
- Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, social work, or education
- Experience with Pre-ETS (Pre-Employment Transition Services) or vocational rehabilitation
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) or career readiness programs
- Speak another language
Physical Requirements:
- Able to travel on your own to different work locations
- Able to move around classrooms and schools throughout the day
